2017 Blog Goals

Hey lovelies! Today I wanted to share my blog goals for 2017! Setting goals are important as they help keep you on track with where you really want to go. In 2016 I set some goals for the year, however, I don't think that by the end of the year they were where I wanted to go. I tell you this because I want to share that it is important that you evolve your goals as your plans change, don't just scrap them. So, let's get into my 2017 blog goals.

2016 Year in Review

Hey there and happy 2017! Today I wanted to share my 2016 Year in Review! I know I'm a little behind, but ever since the day after graduation, I've been working nearly non-stop! Now that I finally have time to sit down, I want to share my year in review for 2016!

2016 was a pretty exciting year for me, online and off!

Here's what happened online!

In April, I changed my blog name from The Arizona Prepster to Creatively Lauren. I felt that I needed a change, and that the name didn't fit the direction I wanted to go with the blog. When I started The Arizona Prepster, I wanted it to go in the direction of a fashion blog, but that's not where the blog ended up heading.

I also ended up posting less frequently as the year went on. This was mostly because of how busy I got, especially in the fall semester. However, I did still compile a list of my top 10 posts from this year.

My Top 10 posts of 2016:

1. Five Bloggers Every College Woman Should Read

2. Five Tips to Help You Excel in Online Classes

3. How to Prepare for Move-In Day

4. Four Reasons Why You Should Get a Job in College

5. 15 Must Have Apps for College Students

6. Five Apps You Should Have as a Blogger

7. Where You Can Find Awesome Student Discounts

8. How You Can Use Trello for Your Classes

9. Why I Quit my Honors Program

10. How to Combat Senioritis

Here's what happened offline!

In June, I celebrated one year with Piedmont/American! So much has happened since I started working with Piedmont, and so much more is going to happen this upcoming year. I'm so thankful that I've gotten to work with some amazing people!

In December, I graduated from ASU! My mom came out from California to watch me graduate and it was great! I can't believe that I'm finally done, it's crazy! I'm currently working on a dedicated post all about my graduation.

Matt and I visited a new city! In July, Matt and I visited Kansas City, Missouri. It was amazing getting to visit a different city. The only downside, these big flying bugs that seemed to be obsessed with my hair. No thank you! I love traveling and I hope I'll get to do more in 2017!

Those are the highlights from 2016 both on the blog and off in real life. 2016 was a pretty awesome year for me and I hope that 2017 is even better! What are some of the highlights from your year? Let me know in the comments!

Blog Traffic Report | November 2016

Hey there! I know I skipped October's traffic report, and I'm so sorry that I did. I know y'all love reading these traffic report. I got very caught up with school and work and I really needed a break with the blog. However, the school year is just about over and I am ready to get back into Creatively Lauren! So, I wanted to share a traffic report for November, even though I didn't really post anything. I wanted to see how well my blog did without being updated every week.

Holiday Wishlist 2016

It's December and that means that it is time to share my Christmas Wishlist! I don't know why, but I don't really know what I want, and no matter how hard I try I can't seem to really think of anything, except clothes. Can I just go back to wanting a bunch of toys?

Life Update November 2016

Hey guys!

Wow, it has been a hot minute since I wrote a blog post, and I'm so sorry for that. At the beginning of October, things were really starting to pick up with school, and although I was confident in once a week postings, I was still struggling to come up with quality content. Taking one week off turned into taking two weeks off, and school continued to pick up. I'm glad I've been able to take a break because I've really been able to focus on school, which is what I will continue to do for the next couple of weeks, but after that I will be jumping right back at it!

Blog Traffic Report | September 2016

Hey there! It's already the beginning of October and that means that it's time for another blog traffic report! Every month I share my traffic stats to show what my numbers are, how I use social media to drive traffic to my blog and to share that it's okay to have lower numbers. Many traffic reports show these big numbers and make newer bloggers feel disappointed about their numbers. Remember, it's not always about the numbers. You can have lower numbers but a tight-knit community. Stop comparing, and do you!

Learn to Manage Your Time Management Skills

Hey hey! I want to talk about something that isn't really talked about much in college but is something that you need to learn before you graduate. That my friend is time management. Time management is something that will help you succeed in your academic and professional career. It is also something that you should begin to train yourself on as quickly as possible.

Why You Should Take Advantage of Your School's Health Services

Hey, friends! I want to share with you something that I believe is vastly overlooked when it comes to college life, healthcare. When searching for posts on college when I first began, I rarely saw posts on going to the doctor while away at college. That could partly be because when you first start college, you go back home more often so you see the doctor when you go home. However, what happens when something happens mid-semester? Or, when you don't go back home as often and need to see the doctor for a regular checkup? You'll most likely go and visit your school's health services.

How to Combat Impostor Syndrome

Hey friends! I wanted to talk about something that was brought to my attention by a fellow blogger that I have admired since the beginning of my blogging journey. I'm not going to share her name, but I remember I posted something in a group and she had mentioned that she currently battles "Impostor Syndrome". Now, I was surprised, she's an established college blogger and loves what she does, yet she is afraid of being found out as a fraud. She's not the only one, many, many bloggers face this fear.

Blog Traffic Report | August 2016

Hey, there friends! With another month gone by, it is time for another monthly traffic report! I share my traffic report because I want to share my numbers, and how I use certain social media platforms to drive traffic to my blog. Now, I also want to share that traffic is not the end-all-be-all by any means. You can have lower numbers, but also have a tight-knit community of loyal readers that support you. However, I know that when many are beginning, bloggers are focused on their numbers. I want to share that low numbers does not mean low success!
