March Resolutions Update

9:00 AM

We're now three months into 2015; we're one-quarter of the way done...already! That's crazy! Here is the March update for my resolutions!

One | Spring 2015 Dean's List: Grades have finally begun to roll in on Blackboard and I'm doing pretty well! Not all of my classes have reported grades so I'm still not completely sure. But I have A's and B's so I'm working on it!

Sunday Stroll in Tempe

9:00 AM

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!

Yesterday, I ventured out of the apartment and went down to Tempe! I went to Tempe to meet with the Editor-in-Chief of Her Campus ASU {I know, I can't stop talking about it!} We met at Chipotle on Mill and I had so much fun {plus, I got Chipotle!}. After the meeting, I had about an hour to kill {I couldn't catch the 2pm shuttle so I had to wait until 3pm} so Chelsea walked me to the Memorial Union. I always forget how beautiful the Tempe campus is. Even after I got on the shuttle, I was admiring A Mountain from the bus.

Also, I wanted to tell you that I now run the Her Campus ASU Twitter! Check us out!

I'm very happy that I got the chance to head down to Tempe, even if it was for a little while!

I also took some selfies on the shuttle!

Have you been to Tempe?! Have a wonderful week!

Friday Favorites

2:00 PM

TGIF! And yes, that is a new Friday Favorites graphic! That is the view of Casa de Oro and Verde dining hall from the quad at ASU West! I have decided to "mature" my blog graphics with the coming of my new domain name. Since I love my school so much and it is one of my favorite things all of the time, I decided to use that!

Neon

9:00 AM

Happy hump day!

This week's Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge is all about neon! I'm not a big fan of neon clothes; I feel like you would look too bright. Its the same as last week's Glitter post, you have to be careful with how much neon you wear. That being said, I couldn't find any tasteful neon clothes to share with you.

Shoes

I think shoes are a great way to add a pop of color without making you look like a walking highlighter. I love a bright shoe every once in a while.

Accessories

Neon accessories are another way of adding a pop of color. They wouldn't be my go-to for that pop but they still do the trick!

I hope you enjoyed this week's wardrobe post!

College

Her Campus ASU

1:00 PM

I love Her Campus, Arizona State, and writing! So recently, I decided to apply for Her Campus ASU and now I'm a part of this awesome group of collegiate women!

{via}
You can check out Her Campus ASU at www.hercampus.com/asu! I should turn in my first article on Sunday so be on the lookout next week! {I'll let you know, don't worry} I'm so excited that I will get to write for the women who are part of our 80,000 student body. We have so many great women at ASU and I'm so happy that I get to work with some of them to be able to provide this great content.

But besides the writing aspect {which I love}, I'm excited that I'm going to be part of a group! {club?}. I'm excited to meet the ladies on Sunday!

If you want to find your campus's chapter just go to www.hercampus.com and click on "My Chapters" and find your college! {Yes, there are only college chapters}. If you enjoy writing I encourage you to apply for your school's chapter! If your school doesn't have a Her Campus chapter and you want to start your own check out Start Your Own Chapter! If you may not have the time for this but know someone who would be great at it, then refer them! If you have any questions, then email Her Campus at chapters@hercampus.com!

Spring Break Linkup!

7:00 AM

Happy Monday! I'm especially happy because today is my Spring Break Linkup!

As you all know, I already had Spring Break {sad} but I know that many of you are on Spring Break now {or are just coming back from Spring Break!}. That being said, I hope you have/have had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break!

My Spring Break was basically chopped up into three sections: My cousin's wedding, our anniversary, and our day trip to California! Also, since I have recapped my Spring Break already, I will recap my favorite outfits from Spring Break!

If I had to do one thing differently this entire break, it would've been to pack more clothes to Palm Springs {I can subconsciously hear my parents groaning now}! But in my attempt to pack lightly for my 48 hour excursion to Palm Springs, I realized I under-packed. I didn't even bring a pair of jeans {thankfully I brought leggings, but still!}. I clearly still need to work on my packing skills.

But my favorite outfit from break was the one I wore for the wedding {and I was so excited to finally wear this dress}! {Even though everyone said I looked great all weekend}

Material Girl Juniors' Lace Cutout Dress | Pink Heels {Old, similar here and here} | Women's Bow Crossboday Handbag {not pictured}

For our anniversary I wore this outfit:

And for our day trip to California, here is what I wore {I know I never actually took a picture}

Spring Break was so much fun and I'm so glad I got to spend part of it with my family celebrating my cousin's wedding. Also, my entire family wants to go back to Palm Springs this summer so hopefully we'll have Palm Springs 2.0 in a few months!

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Friday Favorites

6:30 PM

Happy Friday! My first week back at school is done! Six weeks left! With that being said, here are some of my favorites!

Spring Training

Yesterday Matt and I went to our first Spring Training game! It was so much fun! The Dodgers played the Angels and tied 7-7 {yes in Spring Training they will end in a tie}. I can't wait to go next week!

Guest Post

Yesterday Mikkaela of The Southwestern Prepster posted my guest post! It's based on my College Tips series that I do! Check it out and let me know what you think! {She'll be participating in my linkup!}

Domain Name Change

Did you notice that you may have had to have been redirected to enter The Arizona Prepster? That's because I changed my domain name {well I bought one}! So now, no more .blospot {I know, such sorrow}. I'm very happy with the change, as I hope you are as well!

Don't forget that my Spring Break Linkup is Monday! I hope to see you there!

What to Wear to Spring Training!

9:00 AM

Today I am going to my first Spring Training game of the season and I am excited!

I love that Spring Training is in Arizona; the weather is always perfect and, well, I live here now! For about a month and a half the Dodgers are here in Arizona and that just makes me incredibly happy! Okay, back to the real reason for this post: what to wear!

Right now the temps are approaching the 90's and it's apparently going to be warmer than normal for this time of year for the rest of Spring Training. That makes it hard to look nice, stay cool, and still support your favorite team. But here is how you can:

All that Glitters...

9:00 AM

It's hump day!

What girl doesn't love a little sparkle in her wardrobe?! {Or in general}.

Clothing

Sequin/glitter clothing can be hard to pull off and I feel it's really only seen around New Year's. You have to be careful with glitter clothing because during those sunny days you may blind someone {not literally, but you get the point}.

1 | 2 | 3 | 4
Shoes

Glitter shoes are something that I would wear on a more regular basis. However for a special occasion I could definitely see myself wearing glitter shoes!

1 | 2 | 3 | 4
Accessories

I think glitter accessories are the perfect way to add a little sparkle to your outfit. Many accessories are small so there isn't an overwhelming amount of sparkle on your person.

Next week's theme is......Neon!

I hope you enjoyed today's Wednesday Wardrobe post! Do you like throwing in some sparkle to your wardrobe?

Spring Break Wrap Up

9:00 AM

Well, today is the day I head back to school; bummer.

The first half of my Spring Break was planned and has been documented to you all {see The Wedding and Our Anniversary} but the rest of my break was really unplanned and I didn't really know what I was doing.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were nothing too special. Matt had to work but he came home in the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday which was nice. Thursday night Mat decided he wanted {needed} to go get his haircut. Well, he only gets it cut by one woman in our neighborhood...in California. So Friday we went back to California for the day, which was so much fun! It was great to surprise my parents; they were so happy! Plus, spontaneous trips are always fun!

Then Saturday and Sunday {mostly Saturday} I cleaned up a lot around the apartment. Yesterday, I prepared myself for school and got many of this week's blog posts ready!

I would say that I had a great Spring Break. Any time off to relax, get stuff done around the apartment, and see my family is time well-spent in my book! But now it's time to get back to school and finish off the next seven weeks of the semester!

Dots or Stripes?

9:00 AM

Happy hump day! It's time for another Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge! I love both polka dots and stripes! I think they're a simple way to add some pizzazz to your outfit! So let's check some out!

Dots

I love polka dots! I love them on clothes, accessories, notebooks, phone covers; seriously everything! Polka dots are so cute and I think they add a playful flare to any outfit!

1 | 2 | 3 | 4
1 | 2 | 3
Stripes

Stripes are sometimes tricky to pull off. It's either hit or miss with certain stripes or clothing or combination of the two. However, I love stripes when they work well. It's usually horizontal stripes that can be unflattering but I think if they are pulled off correctly, then go for it!

I hope you enjoyed this week's Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge!

3/9/15

12:30 PM

Yesterday, the 9th, was our two year anniversary and we had such a good day!

Thankfully, we didn't have to wake up at a specific time; we were so tired from the weekend wedding and family fun! For lunch we went to Chili's, nothing too special but we haven't been there in awhile {or out to a restaurant just the two of us} so it was good. We had a Chipotle Chicken bowl as an appetizer and it was so good. If you go to Chili's, then get that bowl!

For dinner, we went to Z'Tejas, but not the location that we normally go to. We went to the one on Mill Ave in Tempe {to fulfill the "our anniversary events aren't in Phoenix"}. I know, how clever. Then we proceeded to Mesa to see 2Cellos. Yes, that's right 2Cellos. It's two guys playing Cellos, it's as simple as that. They cover different genres and they are incredible at what they do. If you haven't heard of them, check them out! They are amazing live! Here's one of their videos!

Yesterday was a great day and there was no one I'd rather have spent it with!

Happy Anniversary Matthew!!

9:00 AM

First off, this is somewhat going to be a mushy "I love you" post because it's my anniversary with Matt. So if you don't want to see that, then you can scroll down and read some of my other posts!

Two years ago today, the question "Would you do the honor of letting me be your boyfriend?" filled the air between Matt and I. I had never heard it worded that way and to me it was more respectful and much cuter. Clearly, I said yes! Since then, we've had our ups and downs but always had fun. Our Tuesdays were {before his airport job} filled with pasta, NCIS, and Chicago Fire. In high school, he sent lunch to me when I didn't feel like eating anything from the cafeteria. In college, he's pushed me and helped me succeed in my classes. He's always worked hard to achieve the lifestyle we both enjoy. He's gotten his pilot's license {but STIL hasn't flown me anywhere, boo} and now works as a ramp agent at the airport and enjoys it. He's helped me see the good in myself, helped me learn to take care of myself, and has always made sure that I felt loved. He may be smarter than me, be bigger than me, be better than me at certain things but {I'm funnier} he's always used that to help me better myself.

Since Matt has gotten his airport job, he's been gone from the afternoon until late at night. When we lived in Simi, we saw each other everyday and at the beginning of the school year, I moved into his apartment and out of the dorms {plus we live close enough to the school so I always saw him anyway}. So with him being gone most of the day I had to learn to appreciate the time that we did get to spend together, the cuddles at night and time in between my classes and him leaving for work.

Recently, we've adopted Jingles, our furbaby. She's the cutest cat. When you're in a relationship, it's sometimes hard to see the way your significant other looks at you. Well, with Jingles now I can. I can see that he loves Jingles very much and deeply cares about her. She may just be a cat but to us she's part of our family. I equate petting Jingles to cuddles,  a sign of affection. There are never enough cuddles in a day; listening to your heartbeat.

I know recently we've had our fights and our mistakes but love is stronger than that; is stronger than words that can be said. Being able to work on our issues instead of just giving up shows the strength and love we have for each other.

I love you so much Matthew. I can't wait to find out what we're doing today! Thank you for always giving me the chance to prove myself and show how much I love you. Thank you for all you do for me, I could never say thank you enough.

I hope you know how proud I am of you and that I'll always support you no matter what happens. You are amazing and all I ever want to do is support you and help you reach your dreams!

Happy two year anniversary Matthew. I can't wait for many more!
