Edible Sugar Cookie Dough for Fourth of July
Hey there! With the Fourth of July just two weeks away, I wanted to share this awesome recipe that I found on Pinterest and decided to try out! Edible cookie dough is something a lot of people love. On a hot summer day, or at a Fourth of July barbeque, these cool sweet treats will be a breath of fresh, sweet air.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Lauren, you get sick eating cookie dough”. No, not with this recipe you don’t, because it is eggless. That’s right, this recipe uses heat treated flour (five minutes in the oven at 350 degrees). I was looking for a recipe that would taste just like a sugar cookie without the danger of using eggs. I had found a couple different ones on Pinterest but ended up going with this recipe because of its simplicity.
You can make this recipe any time of year, the original site I found it on was making it for Christmas. I made a slight substitution and used red, white, and blue sprinkles instead of red and green sprinkles to make it more patriotic. You can make this recipe any time of year and use any color sprinkles that you would like, it’s completely up to you.
I love the way this recipe turned out. It tastes just like bakeable cookie dough, just without the egg. I know, it does take the fun out of eating raw cookie dough with egg in it, but why chance getting sick when you can have the same great taste without the egg?

This looks so yummy! I can’t wait to try it!
