HopeFest Phoenix 2015
Yesterday I volunteered at HopeFest Phoenix. The actual event is today from 9am-2pm but ASU and Changemaker needed volunteers to help set up yesterday.
HopeFest Phoenix is an event held at Chase Field that provides 15+ services to those who need them. These services include groceries, housing connect, medical and dental, vision, and clothing. It is held on the concourse of Chase Field {not on the actual field} and outside of the stadium. One in three working Arizona families cannot provide their family the basics and that is where this event comes in.
Here some pictures from previous events!

I didn’t hear about this even until this year and this is the fourth year it’s happening. I needed to do a volunteering event for one of my classes and this one seemed very interesting to me. I don’t know if ASU has participated in previous years but this year it was a big deal, especially for the Downtown campus.
What we did today was help sort women’s clothing. There was so much donated clothing, it was actually surprising to me. It was also heartwarming that so many people donated the bags upon bags upon bags of clothing. There were women’s, men’s, youth, and children’s clothing {and every group had a lot of clothes}. It made me very happy knowing that people who really needed the help were going to be able to get it at this event and that so many people came out to help set it up. There were people from Goodwill, ASU, UofA, and just volunteers. It was great to see so many people come out and do this; and I felt great doing it! I hope some lovely ladies get the clothes I helped sort and it makes their day!

HopeFest sounds like a super cool event! This would be something I would definitely be interested in if there were one closer to where I am from! I'm glad you had a good day volunteering.Colleen | Buckeye Bliss
