Hey there! Today I’m going to share my favorite Christmas movies! Cuddling up with family and watching Hallmark movies is some of the most iconic memories that families have during the holidays. I don’t watch Christmas movies every night, but I do have some of my favorites that I enjoy watching when I do watch movies.
So, I personally am not a big fan of the super sappy/cheesy Hallmark movies. they just aren’t my style. So, here are some of my favorite Christmas movies.
I’ve loved this movie since I was a kid. I know this one can be kind of cheesy, but it is definitely a wholesome movie. It’s about children who take a train to the North Pole and get to meet Santa because they truly believe in him. This is also the movie where one of my favorite Christmas songs comes from!
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
This one is another classic. This movie is so funny. Dreaming about the perfect family Christmas vacation, trying so hard to make it so, just for it all to blow up every step of the way. This movie is as funny as it is wholesome and definitely gives the spirit of trying to get along with your family during the holidays.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966 Edition)
This old animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas is one of the first Christmas movies when I was little, so it holds a special place in my heart. There has been a couple of adaptations since this movie came out, but this animated version is still one of my all-time favorite movies.
This movie is definitely very funny. An eight-year-old is accidentally left home alone when his family mistakenly leaves him at home when they leave for the airport. He then has to foil a burglary attempt on his house all alone. There have been more Home Alone movies since, but I think the original is the best.
Now, this is definitely not like a typical Christmas movie. This is a raunchy, dark comedy, so it is not quite suitable for your family movie night. This is an adults-only move night special. A conman and his accomplice pose as Santa and his elf to rip off shopping outlets every year. This year he becomes depressed and is wanting to change things around.
What is your favorite Christmas movie? Let me know in the comments!
